Who is Josh?
If you have attended the afternoon Legacy or Refit sessions at The Toll House, you may have encountered Coach Josh. Currently studying a bachelor of exercise and sport science, Josh has a keen eye for detail, and excels in identifying movement deficiencies and communicating effective improvement strategies.
You might wonder what makes Josh uniquely qualified to lead our inaugural Bootcamp program. The answer is straightforward: he is a full-time member of the Australian Army, serving since 2012. Since 2021, Josh has held the role of Physical Training Instructor (PTI), a critical position responsible for overseeing the physical health and fitness of defence force personnel, from new recruits to seasoned officers.
Josh has spent many years as an Artilleryman, a role that is both technically and physically demanding. During this time, he learned the importance of effective teamwork and was promoted multiple times, ultimately becoming a Bombardier and detachment commander.
Having sustained several minor injuries over the years, Josh developed a passion for understanding these injuries and the rehabilitation process necessary for a return to duty. This interest led him to pursue a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science and transition to the role of Physical Training Instructor within the Army.
